Daily writing prompt
Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.
Dear self,
I hope that age has taught you well. My prayer is that she has embraced you in her arms, and whispered the meaning of love. I hope that every hurt, pain and grief is a weight that you've let drop to the sea, so that you have learnt to keep your smile and sweet spirit. I hope love has marked every decision and thought, no matter how mean, cold and cruel the world has been. I hope you have always extended your hand in need, whether deserved or not. I hope you've always been there to listen to what has never been said, and also to see what has never been shown. My hope is that you have learned to love, as vast and free as a child.
For love is the ceiling of heaven, and also its floors. Love is the door, but also the walls. Love is the safety, but also the defence. I hope, my dear soul, love has marked your life, and will continue to do so long after you are gone.
For love is the light that will lead you home.
